How it Works

Our Process: We are located in the San Francisco bay area. For most of our projects, we start by discussing what you need via email or phone. After confirming details, you can ship products to us for the shoot. Once the shoot is complete, we ship your products back to you. For local clients with high end jewelry, you can also drop off/pick up your pieces instead of having it shipped.

The best way to explain how you want your products shot is to send us links to sample images from other sites that you like. This allows us to confirm whether we can deliver per your expectations.

Why hire us as your jewelry photographer? We've photographed thousands of jewelry photos and are experienced with the lighting, have the necessary accessories and camera lenses required to take beautiful photographs of your jewelry.

We've photographed many different types and styles of jewelry - beads, gemstones, diamonds, resins, pearls, cubic zirconia, metals from golds and silvers to gunmetal, bronzes, copper, antiqued/blackened metals, etc.

Portfolio: Most product photographers have very few jewelry samples in their portfolio so before you make your decision, be sure to ask how much jewelry they’ve photographed.

Final files: We do retouching on your images to remove minor scratches and spots. Images are on a white background (jpg) or a transparent background (png file), which will allow you to place the image on any colored background using an editing tool like Photoshop. Final retouched images are delivered via Dropbox or similar shared folder.

Very happy with the quality of the photos! Ash was very easy to work with--super fast in responding to emails and answering questions I had along the way. He was happy to make a few edits and did not charge me for these changes. The pricing is very fair and he makes sure you are happy with the final product. Highly recommend his work and will surely be sending more jewelry his way in the future!

However, Ash is so affordable AND high quality it was a no brainer! If you are hesitant about shipping out your jewelry don't be! Took wonderful care of my jewelry and sent it back in perfect condition! Also he is very open to any revisions you request. I very highly recommend working with him!

Hard to beat jewelry pictures for this price! Most photographers are much more expensive and jewelry can be tough to shoot, so this is a big time saver for us. Good quality work and very responsive.

We shipped our jewelry from New York. Ash sent all jewelry back and wrapped very well after shooting. The photos are totally beautiful and completed within just a few days. The best part is the price no one can beat. We've done a few times with Ash. We are very happy with the service.

You will not find better product photography anywhere in the bay area at this value. The process was super-efficient and professional - (1) mail products, (2) discuss image layouts and style, (3) samples images delivered to buyer for review, (4) revisions made if necessary, (5) final images delivered to buyer, (6) payment sent, and finally (7) products mailed back to buyer. The entire process took a little under two weeks, most of which was related to package delivery and arrival. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who's looking for fast, awesome product photography and I plan to work with him again in the near future!

Why Hire a Jewelry Photographer

The retail business is competitive:

When we last checked, Amazon had over 50,000 items listed in their Jewelry section and Etsy has over 1.7 million sellers - there is a lot of jewelry out there! One way to stand out and stay competitive is to have professional product images.

Check out these stats from Forbes:

  • 67% of consumers say that an image is “very important” when selecting a product.
  • More than 50% of consumers think a high-quality photo of a product is more important than product information, long description, or ratings and reviews.

Since consumers are unable to see and touch the product in person, they want good product images.

Some common misconceptions...

1. Photographers won’t understand my business needs.

For most photographers, the job is 50% business and 50% photography. Most product photographers have a good understanding of retail. They see themselves as an extension of your business. So find someone who is excited to work with you on your project.

2. I can hire any photographer -- why do I need a jewelry photographer?

“Try to find a photographer that has worked with a product like yours before, and have examples of product shots you like before your meeting,” suggests Andreea Ayers, who runs Launch Grow Joy, a site for creative entrepreneurs. "Photography sets the tone for your store and tells your customer that you are committed to quality."

Jewelry is very different to shoot than most other products. You wouldn’t want someone with a portfolio full of athletic products shooting your jewelry. Jewelry photographers have the appropriate lighting and equipment needed. So hire someone who specializes in your type of product.

3. Professional photography is too expensive.

Professional photography is more affordable than you think. Many photographers offer packages that cater to a variety of budgets, ranging from large corporate gigs to packages tailored for small businesses.

Contact a few jewelry photographers and make sure you have a detailed understanding of their pricing and services. Having a few different quotes also helps you understand what you get at different price points.

4. They won’t accept my input.

You may find the idea of hiring a professional photographer intimidating. But asking questions and listening are part of a photographer's job. Find a jewelry photographer that has an extensive portfolio. During the initial conversation, keep a ear out for the photographers who exhibit patience when answering questions and listen to your needs.

5. I have to hire a photographer near me.

Jewelry photography is a niche, so finding a photographer close to you and within your budget might limit your options. Start looking locally but don't feel that those are your only options.

Look online to find a photographer who is comfortable working with out-of-state clients. They will guide you through the process of shipping your pieces and provide you with a timeline for photographing and returning the items. Search Google for jewelry photographers or contact us with any questions you may have.
