How to combine images in Photoshop for Homepage or Social Networks

How to combine multiple product pictures into one in Photoshop

In this post, I will walk through how to merge multiple product pictures into one in Photoshop.

Product photography costs can add up. Especially if you need custom images for your homepage, category pages, etc. Learning a bit of Photoshop is useful in merging your product photos into collages that you can use for your homepage, social media, etc.

This tutorial is shown in Photoshop, however, the same can be done in Photoshop Elements too. Here are the steps. Follow the video below to see how it’s done.

Step by step on how to combine images in Photoshop

  1. open a few images that you want to merge. I’m using images with a transparent background. If you have images with a white or or colored backgrounds, first remove the background – background removal is a time consuming process in Photoshop so I’d suggest outsourcing it to someone on Fiverr or Upwork – usually costs a dollar or two per image.
  2. Go to file > new and create a new file. In the options, enter the dimensions of the the size of the image you need.
  3. Use the ‘move’ tool to drag individual images into the new file you created
  4. Select the layer of each individual image and move them around using the move tool.
  5. After you get the arrangement you like, save as a psd file so you can modify the arrangement later if you need to.
  6. Save as jpg so you can use it on your site/social channels
  7. [Optional] – Choose the text tool and add a heading, etc to it. or create a button as a call to action.
